Founder and OCF 2011 Coordinator: Dana Langlois

Dana Langlois is an art-instigator and curator based in Phnom Penh Cambodia since 1998.  Opening one of the first contemporary art galleries in the capitol city (Java Café & Gallery, 2000), Dana has helped re-launch a dynamic art scene in Cambodia that has been devastated by war and political instability for several decades.  Through exhibitions, art exchanges, forums, presentations and collaborations local artists have had opportunities to develop and exhibit their work and work with visiting artists.

OCF 2011 Co-Curator: Kate O’Hara

Kate O’Hara has a diverse background in the arts and film working as an artist, curator, filmmaker and educator. She has worked in public programs and curatorship, for such organizations as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and Next Wave Arts Festival, as well as independently on projects with Australian artists.  Her experience is tied together by her interest in the arts, and its potential as a tool for communication and critical exchange in society. She is particularly interested in relational and participatory practices in contemporary art.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Kate has been working within the dance and visual art community in Cambodia for last two years. In her first year here she worked in the Research & Archiving team at Khmer Arts Ensemble as their Cultural Documentation Officer.  Most recently she has been working with Cambodian artists through the Heinrich Bolle Foundation, the Womyn's Agenda for Change and her collaborative art project, ArtXProjects (with Natalie Pace).

OCF Co-curator: Natalie Pace

Natalie Pace is originally from England. She is currently undertaking research in Cambodia for her master’s thesis about participatory art in the context of an urbanising city. She is interested in finding tools, methods and models that work towards the democratization of art, and upholding its significance as a tool with which to provoke debate and engage in socially relevant concerns.

In England, she has worked on a research project with the National Portrait Gallery, and contributed to art magazines. In Cambodia, she is the co-founder, alongside Kate O' Hara, of art collaborative ArtXProjects, which has worked to produce the recent 'Pop-up art spaces' series.

OCF Visual Branding: Naomi Savio

Naomi Savio is a quiet crusader and advocate for the arts and design community. Originally from Melbourne, Australia she is in Cambodia for a short stint volunteering her communication design expertise in numerous arts and design programs. A qualified graphic designer and visual merchandiser, more specifically has been involved with setting up a Melbourne emerging design market and assisting in visual merchandising and exhibition design for commercial and public spaces.

She is particularly interested in cross cultural exchange on a local and international level and arts community based projects which maintain platforms to inform the local and broader community to engage in and encourage community arts participation.
